Venture Far Travel Website
Brand-led design for a curated adventure travel startup — photography-first layouts, an elegant black and white identity, and a strong content-led IA.
Still one of my favourite designs, Venture was a travel startup. Venture Far had great branding and photography — that made for an elegant and engaging website.
My role
Led UX strategy and lo-fidelity wireframes, and completed all UI design — including layouts, icons, navigation, photography editing, and interactive elements.
The brief
Create a travel website for travellers with an adventurous spirit — unique experiences curated by a specialist travel agency.
Strategy
The strategy work covered audience segments, customer journeys, lo-fidelity wireframes, competitive analysis, keyword analysis, and the IA decisions that came out of all of it.
The information architecture was organised around four schemas:
- Destinations — location-based browsing for travellers who already had a country in mind.
- Experiences — curated, once-in-a-lifetime journeys for travellers shopping on emotion.
- Travel deals — seasonal specials to drive conversion at peak travel-planning moments.
- Inspire me — a travel blog feeding both top-of-funnel discovery and ongoing SEO.
Additional personas included Groups and Travel Agents, with their own paths through the site.
Design
Combining amazing photography with the modern black and white brand led to a simple, minimalistic design that let the photography and the content bring the website to life.
